Barriers

Stakeholders

City staff, City Council members, area low income residents, government and nonprofit agencies and business owners.

Strategy and Activities

Reviewed existing data from multiple sources, constructed indicators and held focus groups, including one in Spanish.  Added a capacity-building component whereby three high school interns were selected from neighborhoods impacted by funding. Created key indicators in project goal areas including education, economic growth, social services, health, security, housing, hazardous materials.  Created recommendations for City Council consideration. Interns made presentation to City Council Advisory Committee.

Outcomes
